I am...

I am a 19 year old male, originally from Baja California, Mexico. Where the sun shines high above tourists heads and sets past the horizon of the deep blue Pacific Ocean, but that`s besides the point. I am an adventurous guy who likes to explore the outdoors, both rural and urban areas, anxious to learn and be filled in knowledge about how the world works. Although that gives off the sense that I am full of energy, active and moving around non stop, I am actually pretty easy going. "Carefree" would be the word to describe me, responsible as well when it comes to getting work done and on time. When learning about a new topic, or something that catches my interest I stay relaxed, yet in the inside i`ll be excited and anxious to learn about that certain topic. I have self control which enables to not go off on my own and get too distracted. It doesn`t always quite work out, but I try to stay focused.  I am an observant person who likes to explore with curiosity and the intent to discover, gain knowledge and hopefully remember what I have learned. Sadly, sometimes I am forgetful.
The gifts I bring to this classroom is the ability to be open to anything new, acceptance, and acknowledgement of the surrounding students point of view and thoughts. I bring my friendliness and respect to everyone as soon as I enter through that door and as soon as I step out of it as well. I enjoy helping people out when they are troubled with an assignment or don`t quite understand it. I tend to try, even if I turn out to not be as helpful as I hoped I could have been, it`s the thought that counts right? Along with those traits I also bring with me my ideas, thoughts, opinions to this critical thinking class and the confidence to share them with the class.

  1. I think that’s super cool you’re from Baja California, Mexico! I went to Mexico for the first time last year, Cabo last June and Mazatlan last December. The ocean and weather were perfect! It must be so different living in Mexico and now California. I like that you described yourself as carefree and responsible, just living life to the fullest without stressing on the little things yet being responsible when it comes to things that need to be done. I appreciate your ability to be open to new things, acceptance and thought fullness of other students and their viewpoints. It’s nice to know some people understand respect! I think it's great you want to help people understand certain things even if you don't, the fact that you try shows you have heart!

  2. It is so nice in Baja, the water and climate is great. Have you ever gone fishing there? I flew to La Paz and stayed at my friends house on the beach and ate fresh lobster and swam in the beautiful blue water. you are super lucky to be able to go back there and know the language, I was lost when it came to communication at the markets! It is very nice to be care free because you are open to meeting so many new people and make lots of new friends. It is great that you have the confidence to help other students and share thoughts with the whole class.

  3. Jorge I have learned a lot about you from just reading this little post. That is awesome that you like to go adventuring and exploring because I do too! We should go hiking sometime or adventure somewhere cool because that sounds like it would be really fun. I can agree 100% with the desire to learn and also retain what I learn at the same time because I know I can be forgetful like you said. I also really like that you are accepting of other students and everyone that you encounter, that is a great quality in a fellow student and I admire that. I look forward to taking this class together this semester.
